Halloween is coming up but… :)
My favorite holiday.. Halloween.. is fast approaching. Having become famous for his darker poems and short stories such as The Black cat and The Raven, Edgar Allan Poe became some what of a go-to poet for quotes around Halloween.
But for me.. it’s his more romantic work that truly resonates. One of my favorite sections of his poem Tamerlane :
We grew in age-and love-together,
Roaming the forest, and the wild;
My breast her shield in wintry weather-
And when the friendly sunshine smil’d,
And she would mark the opening skies,
I saw no Heaven-but in her eyes.
